Yet another thing for my wishlist: the not-yet released Sony Alpha 900 DSLR

24.6 megapixels, shutter speeds up to 1/8000th of a second- this is a decided tossing down of the gauntlet and a statement by Sony that they intend to continue to use what they acquired by buying the camera division of Konica Minolta and are going to challenge Nikon and Canon in the professional market.

Every time i start missing shooting professionally, i remind myself that i both hated the self-promotion required to get work and having to deal with certain classes of clients (weddings were the major income source, but also the hugest pain in the ass, and i'll never voluntarily shoot another one). Oh, and it's damned expensive too- although digital has brought the post-equipment costs down drastically.
