For the past two days I have had the joy of owning, and using a Sony 135mm F1.8 ZA.
It is sublime! ... and ... it puts my Sony Alpha 100 to shame, which just adds to my eagerness to get the new Sony Alpha-700.

I will not be posting test photos up just yet (gotta wait until the weekend) - but - I assure you this is worth every penny spent on it.

Brilliant colour, contrast, sharpness - provided you get a good focus lock on your subject then you will be able to see it in precise and wonderful detail right down to tiny small print that you can't even make out with your own eyes (I tried that with a bottle of detergent, and was gobsmacked)

Superb bokeh and subject isolation - foreground subjects (in focus) jump out at you compared to the well-blended painting in the background.

Fast focus, not too much hunting - whilst it does hunt from time to time, I think that is just the camera (which let's face it is not perfect). The autofocus clutch works just as advertised except if the Alpha-100 goes to sleep; when it wakes up then it gives the lens a brief whirr and this turns the manual focus ring, which is annoying. Again I think this is the camera.
This fills my current desired lens combo - 20mm / 50mm / 135mm, so my next purchase will be the Alpha-700, in March / April! Will let you know how that fares with this lens! :op
