Has anyone got a Canon EOS 400D DSLR camera, and/or recommend it?
Im after a new camera and would like a dslr, and buying from tescos I can get the 400D with 18-55mm lens for $180 (due to staff discount, canon cashback offer and a LOT of clubcard vouchers!) however im not quite sure if to get it. The main reason im hesitating is more that its now obsolete as it was replaced by the 450D earlier this year and I like to have the newest versions of technology. Small nitpick I know. The other thing I want to know about it is what memory cards do it use? Wikipedia says Compact Flash, but tescos is saying SD cards (which I have plenty of so wouldn't need to buy more). I currently use a Canon Powershot S3IS so like canon cameras.

The other one ive been looking at is the Sony Alpha 200 dslr which comes with a 75-300mm lens for about $65 extra total (original price is $20 more than the 400D and no cashback offer)..my friend has the alpha 100 which I love to play with when we're at events/away, especially with his 75-300mm lens and seems a generally good camera so at least im used to those ones..

Opinions and/or criticisms? All camera review sites don't seem to give any bad points, so want real peoples opinion, and cant make my mind up between the two! Oh and a telephoto lense for the canon would cost $120, but if the camera itself is better than the sony, then it would be worth the extra cost..
