We got the his and hers Nikon Coolpix S550 cameras I ordered from Amazon.com - they seemed OK at first. After testing it a while, the black one I had gotten for myself was showing some pixel problems when used in movie mode. Something was wrong with the sensor. Amazon.com is great - they gave me a mailing label and told me exactly how to return the camera. Unfortunately, they did not have a replacement in stock, so they will refund the purchase price.

I went shopping a Circuit City (yes, they are still open) and found Canon SD880IS to replace the busted Nikon. Tam liked the Canon, so we tested it against the plum Nikon I got for her. The Canon won our test - the wide angle lens, optical image stabilization, and new, faster image processor won out over the 5x zoom on the Nikon. We returned the second Nikon as well. The only problem is that now we only have one camera...
