Fuji FinePix S 5 Pro Continues
The Live View mode gives you 15 seconds of color or mono viewing
on the rear screen, with the mirror lifted. There is very little information on this in the manual. You are supposed to use Manual focus, but before you can do so, the Up joy pad arrow must be pressed to zoom in on your focus point -the initial view is full frame, which seems slightly pointless and just wastes a second or two or your focusing time.

A shot taken on AF before the Live View test was muted in contrast, had no visible noise at IS0 100, and seemed correctly focused by with some flaring of lighter tones into darker ones. The shot taken just after manually focusing was more saturated, darker, and noisier without any of the bleed of light tones. It did not appear any more accurately focused.
No doubt, there will be uses for Live View but it's far from easy to focus critically and the change in CCD performance, caused by heating up, is a mainly detrimental.
