New Camera: Olympus Tough 8000
Although I have just bought a new camera, the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 superzoom camera in the middle of December last month, choosing it for its wide angle and superzoom features, inter alia,
I'm now eyeing this camera, the latest iteration of the Olympus shock and waterproof camera series. It is the best featured of the series on most counts, particularly its higher resolution of 12 MP and dual picture stabilization - mechanical and digital.

The FZ28, like most cameras, is not water or shock proof. I'd have bought the Tough 8000 outright in December if it was on sale then but I needed a camera and the FZ was available, an only unit looking coy in a glass cabinet at a Panasonic outlet in town. So I bought it without hesitation. The Toughie, in fact, will only be out in the shops next month. I'm in no hurry to get it though and may wait out the year to purchase it as I'm quite satisfied with the FZ.

As of late and from now on, all the pictures featured in this blog are and will be taken by me using the FZ, unless obviously not. A frequent and discerning reader may notice the difference. All this while most of the pictures were sourced from the Internet except for a few which were taken by me.
