My Lexus Love Affair

My experience with Lexus is, fortunately, the direct opposite of my experience with Earthlink. Every interaction with them exceeds my expectations. They have created a customer for life (assuming they keep this level of service).

I have a two year old Lexus GX470. It is my first Lexus, and it won t be my last. The whole buying experience was pleasant - no hard sell, intelligent sales people who were totally professional. When I finally decided to make the purchase, the entire transaction was done in about 30 minutes. And happily, that same level of service has continued over the last two years. I take my car into the new Lexus Service Center in San Jose - the place is so clean that it sparkles. They have food, espresso machine, a quiet work area, wireless internet, and a TV lounge area for those who are not attached to their laptops.

Yesterday I brought my car into the service center for the 30,000 mile maintenance. The assistant manager brought me into his office, went through the service (which was extensive), and asked me if the car had any issues I should know about. When I mentioned a shimmy that was starting to happen when I braked hard, he ordered a full brake job, which was still under warranty. Then he gave me a discount on the service, which made the cost a whole lot easier to swallow. He then walked me over to the loaner car desk, where they had a brand new RX300, with a whopping 10 (yes, ten) miles on it, waiting for me. (I know, I wish it had been the RX400 hybrid
but hey, it s a loaner car!)
The return was just as simple. My car was done when they said, the cost was less than I was quoted, and I was out the door in ten minutes from the time I arrived. The team there was pleasant and professional.

I never thought I would enjoying getting my car serviced, but Lexus makes it as hassle free as it can get. And their espresso machine makes a pretty darn good mocha!
