Why We Drove It: The Nissan Rogue is among the top ranked vehicles in its class for fuel economy, according to the EPA, and is a Top Safety Pick according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

In surveys that J.D. Power and Associates has conducted with verified owners of the 2008 Nissan Rogue, the people that actually own and drive one told us:

Handling, power, CVT [are] superb. Driving dynamics are excellent, car handles well around turns and corners.

The handling of [the Rogue] is fantastic. Smooth, drives like a sports car with plenty of space.

Sure-footed reliability in a variety of very difficult road/weather conditions. [I live in] Montana.

Easy to drive, handles very well in variable weather conditions.

Maneuverable, responsive handling, easy to drive, comfortable on long trip.

Haven t gotten more then 24.2 mpg. It was rated at that for city and 30 for highway.

Mileage needs to be better on highway. Other than this, literally no complaints.

Four-cylinder does not have enough power for quick acceleration.

While in the average price range, not [an] exceptional value. Options [are] too expensive and tied to other options. To get leather
you must get $2,200 premium package.

Hate the seat material and dashboard. Looks cheap. Seat fabric wrinkles/pulls and I m very lightweight and have only had it for 3 months.

Comfortable! Its so easy to get in and out and more comfortable than any furniture in my home.

Rear seat has excellent leg and head room. Extremely comfy for 2 adults.

Cheap control knob for outside mirrors
cheap plastic used in some thin places, fragile.

[When off,] heating and vent system still blows whichever side the knob is turned to. Very aggravating.

[I am dissatisfied with the] air vents. When you split it between dash and feet, it all goes to the feet, pretty much.

Position of cup holder in center console interferes with shifter, glove box has no lock, emergency brake inconvenient.

I am short and [the] cupholders are not positioned good when my seat is in position to drive.

Front storage console can t [be used] while driving; difficult to access while driving.

I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and I must duck my head when I get into the driver s seat.

My husband has trouble getting in because the roof is too low for him.

Rear side windows are tiny and make changing lanes difficult. Definite blind spot on right side.

[The Rogue] has serious blind spots. Have almost side-swiped other cars numerous times.

Paint seems like poor quality. Dealership left wash marks twice; I don t let them wash it anymore.

Gas [lid] does not lock. Should have to open from inside to protect others from getting into gas tank.

Got nail in tire. Tire not available made [specifically] for this car. Had to be ordered and [I] waited 2 weeks!

Sound system is weak; the subwoofer is too small and no mid-level adjustments.

Overall, Nissan cheaped out on accessories and I do not love driving this car.

Nearly all the amenities of our other 2 cars, which cost almost twice as much [as the Rogue.]
