You have to be careful judging people choices of "flawed cars". Every cars has flaws and the ones that are so important to you may be minor annoyances to other. The Smart is a perfect example. People on this board have made of huge deal about it's faults (real or percieved) because they don't like the car. That just means it's not the right car for them. It's doesn't mean the people who buy one are just refuseing to admit they bought a "flawed" car.

Most of the debates on this board come down to people refusing to admit other people might like something different then them. They then go to great lengths to try and justify their opinion. (yeah, I know...I do it too)

That said....

I've had a few cars that were bad in terms of reliablity.

I had a 79 Plymouth Horizon. Bought it with 40,000 miles and it was OK up to 60,000 miles. Then everything broke on it. As fast as I fixed on thing, something else went. Scrapped it with only 75,000 miles on it.

Next was a 81 Malibu 2 door. Nice car to drive but it caused me more trouble then the Horizon did. Sold it to a couple kids for $200 who had dreams of making a drag car out of it.

I had a 91 Trooper (1st gen) which was a great truck except for the hopelessly underpowered Chevy 2.8 V6. Hills that my wifes 4.0 Grand Cherokee would glide up without a downshift would require me to downshift the 5 speed Trooper to drop to 3rd (or 2nd) and the revs to be up in the 4000 to 5000 rpm range. I promised myself I would never buy anything underpowered again.
